Prior to Father of Love, His Son and HolySpirt creating time, earth and you, They had also created angels; some of which (at one point in eternity), choose to rebel and separate themselves from their Creator.
In the process of their rebellion, these fallen angels established a Kingdom of Darkness; one that denied the love of the Father, the Son and the Spirit. As soon as an opportunity arose for one of them to disguise itself and approach the Father’s first children (Adam and Eve), it did. What resulted was that the angel of the Kingdom of Darkness convinced the first children to rebel and the consequence of that rebellion was their expulsion from the Kingdom of Light and the garden where the Father of Love and Light had placed them.
But there was a mystery hidden in the Father of Love’s heart. A secret so profound that when the time was right, He manifested the power of His love by sending His only Son to redeem them back from the Kingdom of Darkness and transfer them into the Kingdom of His Love and Light.
Colossians 1:12-14 (NKJV) “…giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.”
You see the Father of Love gave mankind the power to choose between the Kingdom of Love and Light and the Kingdom of Darkness. And knowing what was in the heart of the ruler of the Kingdom of Darkness, He also knew what giving His children that kind of power over their own lives would ultimately cost them.
So along with the plan of creation, the Father of Love, His Son and His Spirit made a covenant amongst Themselves to one day (when the timing was perfect) redeem them from the consequences of that freedom, because that fact is, their rebellion was never more powerful than His love for them.
1 John 4:9-10 (MSG) My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can’t know Him if you don’t love. This is how God showed His love for us: God sent His only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they’ve done to our relationship with God.
The Father of Love not only created you with a built-in desire to take part in an intimate, loving, fellowship with Him, but He made sure that the power to have that fellowship was secured as well.
Activation
1. Find a quiet place without distractions (this would be a good time to play soaking music and spend a few minutes thanking the Father of Lovefor choosing you just as you are.
2 Now that you’ve quieted yourself in the Father’s presence, ask Holy Spirit to help you open your heart. Once you feel an openness between you and the Father, ask Him if there are any places in you where the ruler of the Kingdom of Darkness has lied about His love. Maybe it was the way your earthly father did or did not share his love. Maybe it was in a relationship that caused you great pain and, while you were experiencing the heartache you felt as though God the Father either wasn’t there, or maybe didn’t care enough about you to save you from it.
3. Isaiah 52:4-5 says that Jesus, the Son of the Father’s Love, bore our hurts and pains (both those that are physical as well as emotional) so that we could once again have peace and reconciliation with the Father. Based upon this truth, ask Jesus to come and stand in that place of deep hurt and woundedness and show you the where the Father was and what His love for you looked like at that moment.
4. Now as you and Jesus stand in that place, and He shows you the Father’s love, ask Him to wrap that love around you like a warm blanket (for those who struggle with this kind of intimacy, you might ask the Lord to hold your hand, or put His arm around your shoulders so that you feel loved and protected without feeling threatened).
5. Be sure to journal what He says so that you can go back later and see where the journey has taken you.
